Scary times

Life is changing drastically every day. We wait to hear what the next declarations are going to be for our state. Each day, we are wondering how our lives will change even more.

It is rather frightening if we dwell on each and every thing we see and hear. So, let’s control what goes into our hearts and minds. Let’s stay current but not overwhelmed.

The Bible says in 2 Timothy 1:7, “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” Philippians 2:5, “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus.”

So, today when Satan tries to put fear in your hearts and minds, remember where that fear comes from and claim God’s promises.

Let’s put the Devil to shame today!

Coronavirus

If you are like me, I spent the day being kindof lazy enjoying listening to preaching and following the news.

Honestly, when I first heard about the coronavirus, I didn’t take it very seriously. But, the night President Trump got up on National TV and spoke about it, I realized he knows a lot more about it than I did. I started to see the seriousness of it all. In such a very short span of time, our lives began to change and continues to change. If you would have told us even a month ago, that things would be this different NO ONE would have believed us.

In all honesty, the first case that was announced in our county made me panic for a few moments. My husband and daughter are out in the public each and every day. Of course, I am concerned but not overwhelemed.

You see, I serve an amazing God. He is worthy of all of our praise and glory. He has promised in HIS Word about 365 times to “BE NOT AFRAID”. He says in Proverbs 3:5-6, “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding, In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” He is the GREAT I AM…. He will be whatever we need. He is our Saviour, our Deliverer, our Creator and so much more. But, right now, He is My Comforter. He gives me a comfort that all the money in the world can not buy. I urge you to spend extra time with Him in His Word and ask for the peace that passeth all understanding. He will give it to all liberally.

Let’s spend more time with our Saviour and our family. We need to learn to become frugal and learn to do the best we can with what we have. I just want to encourage you and to give you some ideas. You can make it! 🙂

Do on our own

While playing catch up with one of my husband’s nieces, I was complementing her on some of the things that I had seen them make for their little one. She said these words and they stuck with me. She said, “yes, we like to make all we can.” In a fast pace world that we have all been accustomed to, we are so used to getting what we want instantaneously. Drive up, talk to a box, drive forward and waaaallaaa a hamburger and fries are handed out of a window. Hey, if we want new furniture, there is always that trusty old charge card.

Times are changing drastically. People are losing their jobs. Hours are being cut back. Instability and change is our “NEW” life. Hopefully, not for long but it is for now.

Proverbs 31 tells us about the virtuous woman. She looked well unto her household, and eateth not the breath of idleness.

I want to encourage you to learn to make things. Learn to maybe make bread or pie crust or maybe learn to sew or write a story. Don’t allow yourself to become idle. We need to stay busy. Idle minds wander and worry. We need the sense of accomplishment. We need the critical thinking. But, most of all while our hands are busy, let’s keep our hearts and thoughts toward the Lord. The Bible started out in the very first verse that, “In the beginning, God created…..’ Let’s get started, and go CREATE! 🙂
